Daily checks are related to the compliance with labour safety requirements, verification of exploitation of facilities and technological lines, in order to make sure, that no hazards are being created for the surrounding environment or health of the employees. The specialists of the company's technical services are responsible for the observance of environmental protection norms. The quality of atmospheric emissions is checked by TUV Nord Baltik Ltd. The environmental specialists of VARAM Riga Regional audit the pollution once a year and provide their independent opinion concerning the compliance with the law "On Environmental Protection". Sewage are once a quarter tested by the "Joint Water Quality Laboratory" (certified LATAK T-165) and once a year - by "Riga Water" ("Rigas udens") control group pursuant to international norms ISO 10 523, prEN 1899-1, ISO 6060. The indicators of emission of free formaldehyde of plywood products manufactured by Saga group are periodically checked by Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry (certified according to LATAK-T-108, DAP-P-03.035-00-95-00) and their independent opinion is expressed concerning the compliance of the products with E1 and A (EN 1084) category. The checks are performed via the gas analysis test method EN 717-2.

Moreover, quite often also additional unscheduled pollution controls are performed by independent environmental protection institutions, as well as internal controls of the plants are ensured. "Saga Malpils" also has a certificate of a Lithuanian company “Tuvtechnika”, certificate no. TUV BBC 08-11, issued on 22.08.2008. This document certifies that products produced by "Saga Malpils" correspond to the IOS-MAT-0003 standard, version АА-10899-6 (from 10.03.2008).
